The Graduate Program in Systems Engineering (FIME - UANL) is pleased to make the invitation to the next seminar.
In this occasion the :

Dr. Vincent Boyer ( Ph.D. )

will be presenting the seminar:

'GPU Computing and Operations Research'

Abstract: In the last decade, Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) have gained an increasing popularity as accelerators for High Performance Computing (HPC) applications. Recent GPUs are not only powerful graphics engines but also highly threaded parallel computing processors that can achieve sustainable speedup as compared with CPUs. In this context, researchers try to exploit the capability of this architecture to solve difficult problems in many domains in science and engineering. In this talk, recent advances on GPU Computing in Operations Research will be discussed. In particular, this talk will focus on Integer and Linear Programming.

Author Information: Vincent Boyer obtained his Ph.D. in Automatic Systems, from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées, in 2007 and his B.S. in Automatic Systems from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Electronique, d’Electrocinétique, d’Informatique, d’Hydraulique et de Télécommunication, in 2004. He worked during three years at the Laboratoire d'Analyse et d'Architecture des Systèmes in France, in the Distributed Computing and Asynchronism team. From 2010 to 2012 he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre Interuniversitaire de Recherche sur les Réseaux d'Entreprise, la Logistique et le Transport, in Montréal, Canada. Currently, he is an associate professor at the Graduate Program in Systems Engineering, FIME, Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. His research interests include combinatorial optimization, parallel computing, and large scale optimization.
